Building a sentry.
Jan. 22nd, 2012 09:35 pmWell, I have so far come up with working login, check_login, and logout functions for the wikibot.
So, what else do I want? Hmmm. Well, the end goal is to have it check the recent changes log, check the editors against a whitelist, and then come up with a list of edits made by editors not on that whitelist. Then I can folw one of two routes. Originally, I was thinking of going the automated route. If the change is the creation of a new page, replace the content with #redirect [[spam]]. Else, revert to the last edit. I want it to be smart about this and have it revert to the last edit by a whitelisted editor, but that might not be possible. Who knows.
The second route is for it to serve as a glorified filter and require human input. It will list all edits by nonwhitelisted editors and put a check box next to each list item. By default, the checkbox will be ticked. At the bottom of the list, a submit button that when pressed will perform the same edits mentioned above to the marked pages.
Ummm. I should be careful using Fairy Fixit's chathead when making these kinds of posts. It is good to finally have a technically minded sorta pup, but I don't want her turning into the Engineer from TF2. The trouble, though, is that she does maintain the fairy ring teleportation network. She can build teleporters. Maybe dispensers too. Out of mushrooms and teeth. Yeah... >.>
