Jan. 21st, 2012 12:36 pmWell, from the looks of the Milliwiki's Recent Changes page, it looks like the pill spammer hasn't figured out that I am preventing further edits to the pages they put up. They are creating tons of accounts in a desperate effort to find a way around it, though.
I still haven't found an easy way to deal with the other spammers though. They seem to be a bunch of wannabe webmasters that scam businesses into hiring them to build a crappy website. These "webmasters" either also sell these businesses SEO services or just spam the shit out of unmonitored wikis to be able to point to pageview counts to be able to say, "Look at how many visitors the website I built for you is getting. GIB ME MOR MONEY PL0X." Ugh.
It's very easy money. It is so easy that spammers will spam about how easy it is to make money this way. Some I suspect do it to trick potential spammers into letting their computers become part of a botnet. As I mentioned before, there are many programs out there that can generate and post tons of spammy articles and comments to websites and forums. Double ugh. Am I a fool for not earning myself some money by making the world a more spammy place? Instead I generate free content for DreamWidth, Livejournal, FaceBook, Twitter, etc.

Anyhow, I am tempted to tag in here just because what the fuck do you think you are doing, mun?
I must suppress such urges, they are counter productive.
