not_my_sandboxSo, Amascut's canonical story is finally wrapped up. Sort of... the line of quests that feature her and the rest of the Desert Pantheon had its finale and
Amascut is not dead! Somehow, it became a plot point that her death would be disastrous or impossible to accomplish, despite gods much more powerful than her (supposedly) getting killed off.
So did she go though a redemption arc? Not really, not yet, as far as I can tell? But she has sworn off destroying souls. She feels unfulfilled, and she is still angry about it. Apparently that was her problem the whole time, a constant nagging feeling of not being whole, of not being there yet, of not getting what she deserved, and feeling underappreciated the whole time too.
And this, in backstory added to the canon, led to her to be desperate for approval that she never got.
Oh jeez, I just realized that the way I wrote her during the Allpocalypse, she was still displaying attention seeking and approval seeking behavior. But Destruction of the Endless was her focus. Ugh. Right up to the End of the Universe...
It seems cruel that someone plagued by a feeling of unfulfillment receives an ending that is so very much an unending. At least she gets to vent her anger as a raid boss. At least she is over her fear of cats now. She is comfortable enough to look like — herself.
