Okay, now that I know of The Necrofelinomicon I have an AU I can stick into
yakalskovich's AU thingy idea.
The Necrofelinomicon comes from a canonical AU (wut) spawned from Runescape's 200th quest, Dimension of Disaster. It's a What if? AU, premised on the question, "What if [Player Character] was never born?" Nothing much would have changed on a grand scale, but there are some time travel shenanigans so some bigger things are changed around.
One seems to be that Amascut is ok with cats, and cats can pray to her for the resurrection of their fallen companions. And she'll answer those prayers!
So maybe she is okay with zombies too? Dimension of Disaster happens entirely with Varrock, where because of a lack of interference from the player, the demon Delrith was successfully summoned and his buddy Agrith-Naar joined him in destroying Varrock for a bit before the mahjarrat Zemouregal invades with a zombie army and confines them to a tiny part of town. And no, this isn't the same guy that I had Amascut and friends defeat in an OOM. Varrock has actually been through multiple zombie attacks: first by Zemouregal in an elaborate plot to get someone to wrest a magical shield from the Imcando dwarves and then steal it for himself, second by Lucien in his attempt to get the shield (not knowing that the Pheonix gang had split the shield and the gang itself in two), and this third time by Zemouregal again. In the DoD AU the first and second invasions happen the same, and even the splitting of the shield and the gang happens. In canon, Lucien's invasion is fended off because of Varrock's surprisingly vast store of runes and efficient use of magic; in millicanon, Yrael provided those extra runes and Amascut taught the defenders of Varrock the crumble undead spell. As for the splitting of the shield, I figured that Amascut did that too since it was a shield valued by beings as powerful as mahjarrat and must be tough to break. And I had her do that in millicanon, just because she likes breaking shit and because she wanted to spite Lucien. But in the DoD AU, Amascut is somehow fine with Zemouregal and his zombies having control of Varrock and both halves of the shield, but she wasn't fine with Lucien and his zombies. Or maybe Amascut is too busy with something else to bother with Zemouregal. She is, after all fine with cats, even zombie cats. How did The Necrofelinomicon end up in Varrock anyway?
I am not sure what happened to Lucien in the DoD AU. He was well on the way to godhood after his defeat in Varrock, and that was even with the player character interfering. Did Zemouregal convince the other mahjarrat to turn a against Lucien in time to prevent his ascension? Possibly.
Hmmm... I will have to ponder this more. I might even incorporate Darkest Timeline Empress Fixit into this.
