so, about the wiki
Jul. 15th, 2012 12:11 amWell, with the ruby gem mediawiki-gateway it should be simple to mirror the milliwiki on my own not connected to the internet at all wiki, Maybe I should get started on that. Just the actual milliways related articles, though, not the spam. I'll need a list of articles, though. I wonder what I did to my list of legitimate editors.
The spam scrubber is going to take some doing and honestly, if I get it working it won't do any actual good anyhow until Zed figures out how to install the permanent delete extension to the wiki. until then, any deletes I make aren't going to make the revision histories disappear from the wiki's database and Zed will still be stuck with a huge bill from the hosting company. I have been poking the milliwiki'a api and it tells me no extensions have been installed yet.
I think the DeletePagePermanently extension may rely on something that was removed from mediawiki. the page containing the code hasn't been updated since October 2011. :( Maybe I should try adding it to my local install of the wiki to see if such a thing is possible.
